Hi, everyone. I just stumbled upon your site and thought I would answer a at least one question that I noticed on this site. I was ground crew for several of the airships mentioned on this page including Met Life (Snoopy 1), Sanyo. I don't think I noticed Bell, but it was in western Canada during the summers of 2005 and 2006. There are only two ways to get the flight logs --  either from the occurrence log that is filled out on the hour every hour by whoever is on watch  (there is someone with the ship at all times -- we used to pull 8-hour shifts) or the maintenance log kept by the mechanics to log flight hours between scheduled maintenance. The blimps you guys see are only for advertising and filming events. They're not up to an kind of secret stuff like a saw a few people hint at. It's just for fun.

While sitting on my deck, I heard a noise in the sky. When I looked up, I saw a blue Ginn Resorts blimp heading east at approximately 1,000 feet. While keeping a wary eye on this blue beast in the sky, I noticed the front of it pitch up and then back down. I thought, at first, it may be getting ready to do an attack dive on Hershey Park. Instead, it leveled back off and continued on its original heading. I lost sight of it after approximately 20 minutes.

I was driving east on Highway 940 in Mount Pocono when I saw the Goodyear blimp in the skies behind the the Wal-Mart. It was heading east, then south, turned around, then  started to gradually descend behind the trees, heading in a northwesterly direction, toward where the Pocono Mountains Municipal Airport and Moyer Aviation are located. It then started to head back up into the air and continued in an easterly course. I believe it is here because it is race weekend at Pocono Raceway. I do not know the altitude. I took pictures.

A Horizon Blue blimp, came upriver toward Red Bank, made turn, and returned toward beach area, (Sandy Hook-Atlantic Ocean). I'm about 3/4 of a mile from the river, couldn't quite make out the markings on the blimp with the naked eye, but my camera got a darn nice picture of it. I couldn't even guess the Blimp's altitude, the only other "flyer" in the air at the time, was an old "piston-plane" pulling an ad banner.

It's back! Just as fast the blimp disappeared, it has reappeared. It's still circling. It may possibly have a slow leak in it and is going to crash, but that may take days at this rate. You know, like a balloon when you let go of it after blowing it up and not tying it. Only this is in very slow motion! I think the reason I thought the blimp left, is that once in awhile it does a figure 8 and disappears over the roof of this building. Now, four hours later, it's still circling.

First saw the blimp, Met Life, I think, heading north above the river. It circled five times, and I believe it headed east, possibly heading to the Pocono Raceway for the NASCAR race this weekend.  I am not sure of the altitude, but the blimp seemed to be flying at the normal height I have seen them before.

Well I was on Highway I-26, eastbound, taking my wife to work in Mountain Home, when we saw it. It was the same Outback Steakhouse blimp that we had seen a little over a week ago. It appeared to be about 2,500 feet high -- not sure what direction it was traveling. I think this time it may have been coming from the All-Star NASCAR race in Charlotte, North Carolina, this past weekend or the air show that was in Lumberton, North Carolina. Just wanted to share these sightings with everyone, since I just found this site.

I saw a blimp going sideways right at the treetop line level today. I heard it coming and went out to see what the noise was. It was a dark, grayish-blue with yellow on the side. I looked up the Goodyear blimp, but it was not that color of blue. It reminded me more of military colors like Army blue and yellow . Fort Jackson is here in downtown Columbia. The blimp was headed that way, again, sideways.

I was at home when my neighbor's son came and said "come look at this, there is a blimp flying over head." It was the Outback Steakhouse blimp with the blue tip on the end. It was about 2,000 feet or maybe a little higher. It appeared to be going northeast. I have no idea why it was in the area. (Anyone else have any idea why?) There is another sighting that just happened today, and that is how I discovered this site. So I will post it next.

Beautiful clear skies -- but significant winds aloft -- (earlier that morning approximately 23 knots from the northeast.) I watched it for 10 minutes, and it drifted right over me. It was close enough for me to read all the letters, and to hear the whir of the motor. When it disappeared from view, it was very close to the Super Wal-Mart in Newnan. Where it went from there, I have no clue.

Why would it be in Chicora? Possibly going over the Butler, Pennsylvania, farm show. A possibility.

Hour or so later I photographed it in the distance, as the winds quieted a bit and the airship departed for its next assignment: the US Open Golf Tournament on June 15, I think. A nice surprise to see it. I was in a Goodyear blimp while moored several years ago and wrote and photographed a feature for local Gannet newspapers. Wish I could have visited the MetLife blimp too.

Driving south on US Highway 15. A MetLife blimp was traveling east. It was probably somewhere in the 1,000 to 1,500 feet altitude range. This is the second time I spotted a MetLife blimp over Gettysburg in the past two weeks.

Yesterday, a blimp flew incredibly slowly and low over my neighborhood. At first, I couldn't see it because of the trees, and didn't realize what it was (a lot of planes and helicopters buzz my house). When I did (as it passed over my yard, flying VERY low), I ran in for a camera. Then, the blimp suddenly picked up speed and altitude and had almost disappeared in the distance by the time I got back outside. I think the direction it was basically flying was east, maybe southeast. I also saw the Goodyear blimp on either May 14 or May 21, maybe around 11 a.m. or noon, flying very low over the Food Lion (so low, I could see the mooring lines). It disappeared, as well, when I went for the camera, and I tried unsuccessfully to locate it.

I saw something hovering over the horizon and couldn't figure out what it was. My first thought was "it's a dirigible"... and I was right! It approached our house (moving from approximately due south to due north at 2,000 or so feet), and it became apparent that it was the Sanyo Blimp.

Spotted a far-away, gray blimp circling the city of Harrisburg this morning. No guesstimates of height, as I was on the opposite side of the city. Spotted it again this afternoon circling the city. My guess is that it is the MetLife blimp, as I made a similar report around this time last year.

I am originally from Akron, Ohio, so I have seen the Goodyear blimps many times in the past 40 years. I was surprised to see one of the Goodyear blimps docked at Walterboro airport on my way back to Columbia, South Carolina, from a day at the beach. Does anyone know why it was there?

I was in my back yard, heard a weird noise, and there was the Fuji blimp -- about 1,000 to 1,400 feet off the ground. We have multiple overflights by white, unmarked airplanes usually Cessnas, but now dual engine props too. At night, our city sounds like Iraq and has since about July with all the planes and helicopters. I feel like the blimp heading into the city from the Fort area was on another fabulous homeland security mission. I saw the Goodyear blimp same area about a year ago. I frequently see very low noiseless airplanes flying over the treetops at night in this same area. No one will fess up as to what is wrong but if or when South Carolina blows. You heard it here first, 'cause I never miss an opportunity to tell, tell, tell.

My two sons and I were in the car, and it was dark. We saw a fully lighted, blinking object that was the shape of a blimp traveling north. It appeared to be moving the speed of a blimp; and with its shape, this is what we assumed it to be. Others stopped their cars to watch as well. However, I have gone on the internet and have found no information on lighted blimps except for UFO speculations. I am very curious to know what it is we saw. We watched for approx 10 minutes before it went behind the tree line.

It flew over the Air Force base here, which doesn't say much for "homeland security." It was however, great advertisement. Pictures available on request.

No rules, eh? It was the Outback Blimp, heading to the southwest...I'd guess it was going to EDS Byron Golf open from the one in Charlotte, NC, that I spotted taking on the characteristics of a nose-to-tail rocking chair. I was driving back work while eating a Wendy's spicy chicken Finger (oops, I mean fillet) sandwich, watching busy high school traffic and checking the time, hoping I wasn't late relieving the receptionist. The blimp was approx 1,000 feet up...difficult to measure from the ground, and it was a breezy time of day, so...I do believe the pilot was fighting the cross currents and not drunk on our Southern hospitality!

She was being buffeted by rather strong crosswinds, (10-15 knots) making her roll and yawl much like a boat on rough waters. I hope the crew all had their Dramamine for the trip today!

It seemed as if it was about to land in the field behind my house, but I then lost sight of it behind the trees.

It was white blimp that was attached to a long pole. It didn't go anywhere. It just sat there all day long. I suspect that the pilot didn't want to fly it because it was really windy.

The blimp passed over the house at such a low altitude that binoculars were not needed to identify it as the Ameriquest blimp. It headed north. Did it land at Grove City Airport? I would love to read where it had come from and where it was going in future blimp spotters reports.

I was working in the yard when I heard a noise that I was not sure what it was. At the time, the airship was behind a tree from my position. When I was able to see it, it was the airship Outback . I immediately went into the house and got my digital camera and took a picture of the airship. I would guess the airship was approximately 4,000 or 5,000 feet altitude. It was low enough that I could see the people in the cabin or gondola, or whatever it is called. It was traveling in a west-soutwest direction I would guess. A lovely sight in the air as it floats along. Wish it were possible to ride on one of these type airships one time. Also love to eat at the Outback Steak House in the Greenville, SC area.

The Ameriquest Airship "Freedom" was hovering over Shea Stadium and the US Tennis Stadium in Queens, NY. It's the first time I saw this patriotic airship! The airship was covering the Mets baseball game, I suspect.

It moved up the river and seemed to want to head toward State College. It had patriotic colors, and I couldn't read all of the words. I think it said "have you .... today?" Someone tell me more about it.

Yesterday, Outback blimp observed over the city making dives and circles over the city, a second airship was spotted a mile away from Outback but could not make the identification.

It was one big airship! It had a blue tail with stars on it. It sounded like a jet and it was moving very slowly! I think it was about 300 to 400 feet going northwest at about 25 miles an hour.

It was a Goodyear, heading southwest, could be from Farmingdale/Massapequa to Longbeach. It was pretty low to the ground, looks like either it just took off, or still heavy as result of lunch at Luger's.

Contacted fellow spotter AC to keep an eye open and to provide additional report.

Over and out.

I was doing lab work on my Meleagris gallopavo project, and while looking up with my mouth open in the rain to settle once and for all whether turkeys really do drown that way (and time the event) I saw a rather small blimp as it appeared perched atop what was unmistakably one our frequent UFOs here on the strip.

Thank god I had just replaced the batteries in the windshield-wipers on my glasses, or I would have missed the whole thing!

The piggy-backed blimp and it's host seemed to be doing about 1500 mph, and on my side of the thing it looked as though it were billowing inward causing a shifting, misshapen appearance. I am surmising that the blimp was not designed for such speeds, and was therefore probably being held involuntarily.

Across the street, someone duplicating my work seemed oblivious to the event as he gazed upward in the opposite direction. Efforts to get his attention were too late and my shouting was drowned out by the torrent.

Needless to say, my my project was interrupted. I shall wait for more rain.

I saw a huge, enormous blimp hovering over a small stream in lower upstate New York. Although it looked like a Goodyear it said "TWO BAGELS" on its fat side. The pig ate about six bagels and then floated away.

Well, I saw a lot of blimps, but I am not sure I know if I counted them all. What I need to know is, dimpled blimps, do they count? If a dimpled blimp becomes pregnant while I am observing it, what about that? And hanging blimps, they may not actually be airborne anymore, but they should count too, on my personal blimp sightings record. That's all I am saying. Every blimp should count.

SPOTTER:

I was at Mansfield Airport eating at the airport's Restaurant. The blimp was swaying in the wind on the mooring mast on the ground, which is approximately 124 feet above sea level.
